ClearContext ActiveWords Agent Help

Trigger the ActiveWord 'clearcontext' to open the ClearContext ActiveWords Directory.

The ClearContext ActiveWords agent provides tight integration between ActiveWords and ClearContext. ActiveWords pre-packaged in the agent support assigning priority and/or topics to messages and trigger automated filing features.

Please note that many of the functions that this agent provides are not available if you use Microsoft Word as an editor for open messages. To turn off Word as an editor, select Tools > Options > Mail Format and uncheck "Use Microsoft Office Word..."

To create custom ActiveWords that map to individual ClearContext topics, trigger 'ccwizard'. Using this dialog, specify options for ActiveWords that assign your topics to messages, with options to file or send the message immediately.  **The ccwizard function is not currently working with ActiveWords v1.95.  Downgrade to ActiveWords v1.9 to use this function.  We will update here when the issue is resolved. **

Some tasks you can perform with this agent:

Open a new email with a topic automatically assigned to it. Future messages in that email thread will be tagged with that topic and, if the option is enabled, all sent messages (the original message and the reply) will be automatically moved from Sent Mail to the designated Topic folder. Trigger 'ccwizard' to create ActiveWords with pre-assigned topics or trigger 'topicnew' and specify the topic to assign at the prompt.

Open a new email with a priority automatically assigned to it. Future messages in this email thread will be automatically assigned that priority, changing it's position in the Inbox accordingly. For example, trigger 'highnew' to open a new email with assigned priority of "High". (Trigger 'clearcontext' to see additional priority assignment ActiveWords in the ClearContext Agent directory).

Automatically assign a designated topic and file the message or message thread in the associated topic folder. Future messages in that email thread will be tagged with the assigned topic. For example, trigger 'file' and receive a prompt to assign a topic and file the current message (or create your own customized ActiveWords via 'ccwizard').

Automatically assign a designated topic (i.e. 'topic'). Future messages in that email thread will be tagged with the assigned topic and ClearContext filing buttons can be used to automatically file in the associated topic folder.

Automatically assign a designated priority (i.e. 'low'). Future messages in that email thread will reflect the priority and ranked in the inbox accordingly.

Automatically switch between various ClearContext views to rapidly show different views of the inbox by priority, date, thread, etc. ('viewp' for Prioritized ,'viewbd' for Prioritized By Day, & 'viewbw' for Prioritized By Week).

Create an AutoAssign Rule using the current message as a guide ('aa'). Open the AutoAssign Management Window ('aam'). Open the ClearContext Options dialog ('ccopt').

For those who are familiar with the ActiveWords Scripting Language and would like to build their own scripts to access ClearContext functions, the ActiveWords/ClearContext agent installs the following ActiveWords scripting commands:

<CC File Msg>

File the currently selected message in its associated Topic folder. If no Topic is assigned to the message, it will not be filed. This is the equivalent of triggering Alt-M on the ClearContext Inbox and Message Toolbars.

<CC File Thread>

File the entire message conversation (or "thread'') for the currently selected message. If no Topic is assigned to the message, the thread will not be filed. This is the equivalent of triggering Alt-D on the ClearContext Inbox Toolbar. This function does not apply to open messages.

<CC File Topic>

File all messages in the Inbox with the current topic assigned to them. If no Topic is assigned to the highlighted message, the topic will not be filed. This is the equivalent of triggering Alt-O on the ClearContext Inbox Toolbar. This function does not apply to open messages.

<CC Priority:priority>

Assigns the designated priority to the currently selected message. Priority can be designated as Very High, High, Normal, Low, or Very Low. For example, <CC Priority:Very High> assigns a priority of 'Very High' to the current message.

<CC Topic:topic>

Assigns the designated topic to the currently selected message. Topic is designated as any keyword and can contain spaces. Words seperated by a "/" indicate a folder/subfolder topic. For example, <CC Topic:Work/Project A> assigns a topic of 'Work/Project A' to the current message and, if the folders do not already exist, creates a folder named 'Work' under the ClearContext Topic Folder with a subfolder named 'Project A'.

<CCWiz>
<CCWiz
:New Msg>

<CCWiz> starts the ClearContext ActiveWords creation dialog, which allows the user to create their own custom ActiveWords to assign ClearContext topics and/or priorities.

<CCWiz:New Msg> starts a new Microsoft Outlook message.
