IMAP Support is in Testing
** Due to the following, IMAP is not a recommended platform for production use of ClearContext **
The v5.1 release provides some initial support for those who access their email via IMAP. Due to limitations of the IMAP email server, full functionality and performance is not available when using IMAP as the primary mail file. In particular:
- Performance - the application is significantly slower than accessing mail via POP or Exchange. In particular, analysis during setup can take quite some time.
- Prioritization - messages received after setup are not prioritized.
- Non-functional features - Undo, Unsubscribe, AutoAssign and Follow-up do not function when using IMAP.
- Project Categorization - project names are not written to the category field on messages.
Pending the outcome of further testing, we may implement workarounds for these deficiencies in a future release.
