Enable/ Disable Advanced Logging
Use Advanced Logging to collect additional data to send to ClearContext regarding the problem you are experiencing. It is important that you send your log file to ClearContext immediately after the issue you are investigating occurs so that we can pinpoint the issue in in the log.
To enable logging:
- Download this zip file to your hard drive
- Open the zip file
- Run logging_enable.bat
- Close the zip file
Once complete, run ClearContext normally. Immediately after startup, cause the issue being investigated to occur, then send your log information to support via ClearContext > About > Email Support. Attach clearcontext.log to the email created. The log file may be found here:
- Window XP - C:\Documents and Settings\USER_NAME\Local Settings\Application Data\ClearContext\ClearContext Information Management System\Logs
- Windows Vista - C:\Users\USER_NAME\AppData\Local\ClearContext\ClearContext Information Management System\Logs
Where {USER_NAME} is your Windows login name. You may need to display hidden files and folders to find this directory.
Disable logging once you have sent the support email:
- Download this zip file to your hard drive
- Open the zip file
- Run logging_disable.bat
- Close the zip file
